#ChangingLivesAndPerspectives

Updated: Mar 25, 2020

First, I extend thanks to all my readers and encourage you all to keep the FAITH and stay strong with the reality of the Coronavirus, aka COVID-19. While stress and other emotions (feelings of anxiety, fear, anger, and worry) are rampantly high and rightfully so.

Currently, there’s so much unknown and uncertainty about the COVID-19. With that, as we experience changing times, let’s try to change our perspective to a healthier one. Moreover, let’s remain steadfast in our resolve to sustain ourselves and one another throughout this global pandemic.

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, let’s try to be hopeful with rising public health and safety concerns (contamination, restrictions, self-quarantine, lockdown/shelter-in-place, and social distancing) and adverse economic impacts (increasing unemployment, price gouging, and shortage of food and supplies) to name a few that factors into lifestyle changes.

To that end, allow me to offer a few garnered thoughts from my perspective:

1. Take comfort in knowing God is in control.

2. Take time to relax, reflect, and adjust to the evolving changes due to this global pandemic.

3. Spend quality time with family and friends and check on your fellow wo(man).

4. Build your own COVID-19 task force by creating a support team of folks who are truthful, knowledgeable of facts, loving, and have your best interest at heart.

5. Practice safe and effective best management practices to reduce the spread of COVID-19 such as staying home with elevated fevers, washing hands thoroughly, covering your mouth when coughing and sneezing, etc.

6. Re-tool your thoughts from negativity to positivity, prayerfully. Remember words matter and think about the greater good. Particularly as things continually evolve and shift, we are now experiencing a new norm in life.

7. Prioritize what’s truly important to you in life. By that I mean, be mindful and think wisely before acting for we are all connected in a global ecosystem.

In closing, I also extend many thanks to all front-liners including, but not limited to healthcare workers, food providers, and others for all you do. Thanks for truly making a big difference in our well-being. God bless you all. Lastly, but not least, let’s all take good care of ourselves, stay safe, remain prayerful, and be strong — for this is only a test. FACT: God is in control!!!!

Prayerfully,

/s/ Gala D. S. Goldsmith
